CAME CO-DESIGN – minimise the risk of errors, changes, and costs

22 October 2026

Came Co-Design is the set of Came services to support your engineering department.

Reduce the risk of design errors and components that are incompatible with the production process.

Reduce the risk of off-target costs or production difficulties.

Avoid late changes and investing in solutions that have yet to be validated.

Came Co-Design supports your engineering department in developing components and windings

Came Co-Design is the set of services with which we at Came support your engineering department in developing components and windings, working together to assess requirements, performance and compatibility with the production process.

Reduce design errors and incompatibilities

Incomplete requirements and geometries that are incompatible with the process may require revisions at later stages. With Came Co-Design, we support your engineering department in verifying the requirements, geometries and component feasibility. We use Motor-CAD to electrically dimension windings; for die castings, we work with CAD systems and do flow simulations using MAGMA and PROCAST. These analyses help identify potential critical issues while design choices can still be changed.

Reduce inadequate performance, off-target costs and production difficulties

Inadequate performance, off-target costs or production difficulties may require a review of the technical choices. At Came, we discuss the component requirements, economic targets and process constraints with you. The cost saving service integrates dimensioning, simulation, sampling and testing to assess alternatives against the agreed targets, without taking the outcome for granted. In BLDC projects, we also analyse geometries, dimensions and compatibility with winding and pre-assembly. When the project includes a UL insulation system, we check that the materials are compatible with the applicable documentation.

Avoid late changes and premature investments

A critical issue discovered at an advanced stage of the project may require changes to the component, process or tooling. To help you assess the solution before making final investments, we at Came complement the analyses with prototyping and practical testing. In the case study on the BLDC insulation head, the process comprises five stages: initial design analysis, design review, building the prototype using 3D printing, testing in the production process at Came, and delivery to the customer for in-house verification. This gives you feedback about process compatibility and your project requirements, which is useful for deciding the next step.
